We believe there has never been a more exciting and relevant time to be a youth arts practitioner. Youth Arts Network Cymru allows us to celebrate who we are, to raise the profile of our work and to fight for a sector that we passionately believe in.
Together we are stronger, and our collective voice louder. YANC membership is growing, with affordable annual memberships starting as little as £5 for students. For this there is the opportunity to be part of Wales wide networking and collaboration, as well as opportunities to develop your own practice through practical YANC events
We believe there has never been a more exciting and relevant time to be a youth arts practitioner. Youth Arts Network Cymru allows us to celebrate who we are, to raise the profile of our work and to fight for a sector that we passionately believe in. Youth arts practitioners need a home in order to develop their own talents and abilities in the sector, to innovate, create and challenge each other to be the best we can. YANC members include all the key companies in Wales working with young people, freelancers, emerging artists, students, 16+ and interested parties with a passion for the sector.
The Warwick Commission (2015) highlighted huge inequities that exist in the arts. We believe that Youth arts practice directly addresses these inequalities enabling young people from different backgrounds and cultures to participate in the arts and make their voices heard.
Who is involved?
YANC brings together people who work across the sector, from small startups to large organisations, from individual freelancers to collectives. We welcome people from every background, and with every level of experience.
YANC is supported by the Arts Council of Wales.
